NOTICE is hereby given that the Scott County Board of Supervisors, Mississippi, will receive written sealed bids until the hour of 10:00 am local time on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the boardroom of the Scott County Board of Supervisors located at 100 E. Main Street, Forest, MS 39074 (601-742-1161) for the furnishing of all labor and materials, and for performing all activities specified in the Contract Documents, for the construction of the Scott County Courthouse ADA Improvements .

The project includes the ADA parking, sidewalk, and ramp renovations to exterior of building along with various interior ADA accessibility improvements The Contract Time will be One Hundred Fifty (150) consecutive calendar days, and the liquidated damages will be $540 per consecutive calendar day thereafter.

Plans, contract documents and proposal forms are on file for public inspection in the office of the Scott County Board of Supervisors, 100 E. Main Street, Forest, MS 39074 (601-742-1161), and in the office of the Engineer, WGK, Inc., 204 W. Leake St., Clinton, MS 39056. All documents required for bidding purposes, including specifications and plans, may be viewed for free at www.wgkengineersprojects.com. Documents may be downloaded for a non-refundable charge of $75. Hard Copies are also available for ordering online for a non-refundable fee. Bids for this work will be accepted only under the name of the Bidder to whom the Contract Documents and Addenda, if any, have been issued by the Engineer. Bids received by bidders to whom the Contract Documents were not issued by the Engineer will be returned unopened.

State law requires a non-resident bidder to attach/include a copy of his resident state’s current law pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors with their bid. Any bid submitted by a non-resident contractor which does not include the non-resident contractor’s current state law shall be rejected and not considered for award.

All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the hour of 10:00 am, local time on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at the boardroom of the Scott County Board of Supervisors, 100 E. Main Street, Forest, MS, 39074, Bids will be considered by the Scott County Board of Supervisors at or before the next regular meeting thereof to be held within thirty (30) days of the date of receipt of bids.

Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 requires that the County and contractors participating in CDBG projects give opportunities for job training and employment to lower income residents of the Scott County area that is described as Scott County, MS. Section 3 also requires that “to the maximum extent feasible” contracts for work in connection with Section 3 covered projects be awarded to business concerns that are located in or owned in substantial part by persons residing in the Scott County area.

The Scott County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in the bidding and to reject any and all bids.
